New for 2011 is a range of Q-Deck® decking boards that are designed to accept the slip resistant Q-Grip® strip. New Q-Deck® Pre-Grip, York 2 and Canterbury 2 style deckboards can be retro fitted with slip resistant Q-Grip® strips. When used in conjunction with Q-Grip® strip these three styles of Q-Deck® decking boards allow deck builders to strategically incorporate slip resistant areas within a traditional deck scheme with ease. Areas of decks that tend to require enhanced grip are walkways or boardwalks, borders or edges and steps or stairs.

All the grooves in both York 2 and Pre-Grip decking boards are designed to accept Q-Grip® strip and their positioning creates a very regular look. Q-Deck® York 2 has five grooves and Pre-Grip has seven grooves. Both styles allow Q-Grip strip to be positioned in the middle of each board, useful for certain boardwalk applications, or the edge of a board which is useful for the edge of decks or steps. Just two grooves in Q-Deck® Canterbury 2 style decking are designed to accept Q-Grip® strip.

When used with Q-Deck® decking boards the more Q-Grip strips that are used the more grip is enhanced by minimising the gaps between aggregate strips. With Q-Deck® Pre-Grip up to seven strips can be fitted to each decking board for maximum re-assurance.

Q-Grip® strip can also be fitted to grooves that are post applied to existing decks. Note: On hardwood decks this grooving process is un-likely to affect any existing warranties that may be in place. When grooving existing treated softwood decks it is likely that any existing warranty will be invalidated, at present this is the case for any existing Q-Deck® decking boards not designed to accept Q-Grip® strip. If unsure always consult your decking supplier.
