Balustrading - Strength Rated
In almost all commercial deck applications and some domestic, the design and construction of deck parapets/balustrades need to meet UK Building Regulations. The new Q-Deck Plus strength rated external balustrading system combines various components from the existing Q-Deck range and a new, robust ‘timber to timber’ connector and flat chamfered spindle. The result is a higher specification system ideal for commercial applications and meets the requirements for BS6399 (1) 1996 ‘Loadings for Buildings’and thus UK Building Regulations for most applications. There are two systems - horizontal and stair (set at 35° angle). Each system is sold as a kit of parts and include detailed fitting instructions. The Grand Post material (and Grand Post Cap - optional) must be used to create the newel posts for the system. These can be ordered separately. Both provide a handrail height of 1100mm and are suitable for areas where people may congregate, such as restaurants and bars. The horizontal system is also suitable for ‘public access’ use encompassing public areas such as national parks.
