Anti-Slip Resistant Decking Boards and Anti-Slip Grip Strips

There are 2 quality designs of decking boards with enhanced grip characteristics within the Q-Deck range, Q-Grip York and Q-Grip Canterbury. These deckboards are ideal for slip sensitive areas on domestic decks such as steps, outdoor smoking areas and public places such as pub’s and restaurants. Both Q-Grip anti-slip boards are tested to BS7976 parts 1 & 2 and provide a 'low potential for slip' under classifications set out by the UK Slip Resistant Group. In 2008 we introduced pre-cut slip resistant step treads in both York and Canterbury style Q-Grip decking; providing yet another quick and easy product solution for steps or even walkways/boardwalks.

	Q-Grip York Anti-Slip Decking UC3 33mm x 120mm This slip resistant Deck board is used smooth side uppermost. This suits commercial applications as it is easier to keep clean and being of a thicker section meets commercial loading requirements more easily.
	Q-Grip Canterbury Anti-Slip Decking UC3 27mm x 144mm This slip resistant deck board is used grooved side uppermost. This suits a wide range of applications including slip sensitive areas on domestic decks such as steps.

Retro-fit Anti-Slip Resistant Decking Boards

New Q-Deck® Pre-Grip Anti-Slip deckboards have the deepest and widest grooves of all our boards and their positioning creates a very regular ‘chunky’ look. When used in conjunction with new Q-Grip® strip, Q-Grip® Pre-Grip allows deck builders to strategically incorporate slip resistant areas within a traditional deck scheme with ease. Areas of decks that tend to require enhanced grip are walkways or boardwalks, borders or edges and steps or stairs.

New Q-Grip® strip is a versatile retro-fit solution to minimise the risk of slip associated with a slippery deck. It can be fitted to grooves that are either post applied to existing decks or the new Q-Deck® Pre Grip board detailed above. When used with Q-Deck® pre-grip deckboards the more strips that are used the more grip is enhanced by minimising the gaps between aggregate strips. Three or even five strips can be applied for greater re-assurance. The application of just a single central strip may suffice in certain boardwalk applications.
